Earlier, the safe-haven dollar dropped amid hopes for a US fiscal deal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Break or bounce at 1.18?<\/strong>\u202fThat is the question for EUR\/USD traders, which have seen the world&#8217;s most popular currency pair retreat after two attempts to move toward the round number after President Donald Trump was discharged from hospital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The critical\u202fkey is the US fiscal stimulus<\/strong>. The sooner and the larger a relief package&nbsp;comes, the more the safe-haven dollar can fall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Central bankers return to the scene on Tuesday.\u202fChristine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, will speak about the economy as\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/economic-calendar\/united-states\/country\/c9822cb1-6cee-45f4-a9a2-89d136990308\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>eurozone<\/strong><\/a>\u202fcoronavirus infections are on the rise. In her home country of France, Parisian bars will be closed on Tuesday. The Spanish capital Madrid is under lockdown and infections are advancing rapidly in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Ireland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Lagarde expresses&nbsp;more&nbsp;concerns and readies more stimulus \u2013 also amid falling inflation \u2013\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/currencies\/eurusd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>the euro<\/strong><\/a>\u202fcould suffer. On the other hand, data from the summer remains encouraging \u2013 German factory orders exceeded projections with an increase of 4.5% in August.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, will also deliver remarks later in the day. He is unlikely to stray from the bank&#8217;s pledge to keep rates lower for longer, but without offering any imminent changes to the policy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent<strong>\u202f<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/economic-calendar\/united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>US<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u202f<\/strong>economic figures have been pointing\u202fto ongoing recovery, albeit losing steam.&nbsp;The\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/macroeconomics\/economic-indicator\/nfp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Non-Farm Payrolls<\/strong><\/a>\u202freport showed an increase of 661,000 jobs, fewer than expected. On the other hand, the ISM Services Purchasing Managers&#8217;\u202fIndex beat estimates.
